Prior to your surgical procedure you will see Dr. Healy for a pre-op visit. This visit is part of the educational process that we feel is very important. At Healy Plastic Surgery we want our patients to be fully informed and educated about the procedures they receive. This education will better prepare you for your surgery and will make the post-operative recovery much easier.
At your pre-op visit Dr. Healy will review your initial consultation. Your vital signs, medical and surgical history, medications and allergies will be reviewed. A thorough physical examination will be completed. Any necessary lab work will be obtained. Dr. Healy will review step by step what will take place on your surgery day. The consent forms will be fully discussed. Pre-operative photographs will be obtained. You will receive your prescriptions so they can be filled before your surgery day. Implant sizes will be finalized if you are having a breast augmentation. Dr. Healy will answer any questions that you might have. You will be able to tour the operating room and recovery room.
The pre-op visit will typically last about 40 minutes. We encourage spouses or significant others to attend the pre-op visit with you. We find that two people listening to all of the information will collectively absorb more than one person will. At Healy Plastic Surgery we want our patients and family members to be fully educated about the surgical process.
The following forms can be printed and filled out prior to your pre-op visit.
